Coaching is not just about improving physical performance, nor is it about winning. The development of the athlete as a “whole” person is just as important as his/her success in sport. The physical skills you teach your athletes may only be used for a few years, but the attitudes and values they develop towards themselves, and others will last a lifetime!

Sport Waitākere is proud to support the delivery of coach development programmes in clubs, schools and regional organisations. We support coaches across all sporting codes, and we are committed to delivering opportunities for people to connect to other coaches, and enhance their coaching skills so that they can provide quality experiences for their athletes.

If you are new to coaching or you are looking to broaden your coaching capabilities, please contact us for more information email: jemma.palmer@sportwaitakere.nz

Throughout the year you'll be invited to workshops, seminars, and other development sessions designed to benefit you as a coach - no matter what level you are coaching at or what sport you are coaching. We will cover a range of topics that will have practical benefits across all sports. If there is a specific topic you would like to cover, please email Jemma Palmer, Youth Sport Advisor.

Keep up to date with what's going on in the clubs and coaching space. Join the mailing list for our Club Noticeboard e-newsletter today!

The Sport Waitākere Coach Connect network allows coaches across all levels and codes to come together to share experiences and ideas, and learn from each other.
