TŪ MANAWA ACTIVE AOTEAROA

Sport Waitākere is proud to be partnering with Aktive to manage Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa on behalf of Sport NZ in West Auckland.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Due to the high number of Fast Fund applications, and high quality of them, we have taken the decision to close our application portal. This decision has not been taken lightly, however at this time, we feel this is the right thing to do.

The day this will happen is Friday the 13th of October at 5.00pm.

The portal may open again later in the year. If we do decide to open up again, we will make sure to give you ample notice of this happening.

Nga mihi nui,

The Sport Waitākere Team

WHAT IS THE TŪ MANAWA ACTIVE AOTEAROA FUND?

Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa provides funding for programmes or projects delivering play, active recreation and sport experiences for tamariki and rangatahi. These may be new or already operating.

We know from research that there are some groups who are more at risk of missing out or being less active, including those living with a disability, in higher deprivation communities and girls and young women. Programmes or projects that reach these groups will be prioritised for funding. These priority groups are:

  • Children and young people (5-18) in higher deprivation communities
  • Girls and young women (5-18)
  • Disabled children and young people (5-18)

We welcome applications from a wide range of groups and organisations.

What does Tū Manawa mean?

The meaning behind the words are tū - ‘to stand’ and manawa – ‘breath’. In the context of play, active recreation and sport the name calls to all New Zealanders to live our vision - Every Body Active. - SPORT NZ
