Holy Cross Catholic School – Diversity and Connection through Dance

In 2021, Tū Manawa funding helped 308 tamariki from Holy Cross Catholic School participate in a 10 week cultural dance programme. Each week students took part in lunchtime and after school sessions that taught them different cultural dances from around the world. 

Tamariki Tours – Wave Warriors Surfing and Surf Safety Days

The Wave Warriors Surfing and Surf Safety programme run by Tamariki Tours, has been operating for the past five years. The programme, for tamariki and rangatahi who may not have the means to take part in commercial surf lessons, gives them the opportunity to try out surfing for the first time.

Kaiwhakatō Hākinakina - Greenbay cluster

Kaiwhakatō Hākinakina (Physical Activity Facilitators) mentor teachers, volunteers, and student leaders to build competency and confidence around delivering quality physical activity and play experiences for tamariki in the Greenbay cluster. 

Community Waitākere – New Windsor Community Club 

Tū Manawa funding helped the New Windsor community club host four Covid-19 conscious events, which included; a Matariki celebration, a community treasure hunt, swim safety lessons for women and tamariki, and hip hop classes for tamariki.
