Paralympics New Zealand

Paralympics New Zealand support and encourage opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in sports, from regional, national and international levels. Sports are offered through a network of Regional ParaFed Associations, National disabled & able-bodied Sports Organisations, clubs, coaches and individuals.

Paralympics New Zealand provides athletes and coaches access to international competitions, such as the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games, and IPC World Championships.

Xccelerate 2 Xcellence is a SPARC funded Paralympics New Zealand driven initiative to find the best disabled athletes nationwide and fast track them to success at the 2012 London Paralympic Games. Paralympics New Zealand is targeting athletes who have a substantial training background or have competed to a high level in either able-bodied or disabled sport, and fast tracking them into a high level training programme with appropriate coaching and support structures.
