Club Development
Sports clubs within Waitakere play a vital role in the delivery of sporting opportunities; Sport Waitakere is committed to support these organisations so there are great clubs in our community providing opportunities for participation in physical activity for all.
Sport Waitakere is utilizing the SPARC created Club Organisational Development Tool (ODT) which is designed to provide a comprehensive view of the capability and performance of a club or community sport organisation. The ODT enables the identification of areas of good practice and opportunities for development and improvement.
The ODT process and report provide clear direction for organisations wanting to improve their performance. It also provides organisations with an opportunity to benchmark themselves against good practice across the full scope of their current and potential activities.
As a result Sport Waitakere and/or National and Regional Sport Organisations are also better informed to provide meaningful support for clubs. The opportunity for future reassessments provides organisations with an excellent tool for monitoring and improving themselves over the long term thus being more attractive and delivering a better service to participants.
