Active Seniors/Kaumatua Brochure
A guide to active living in Waitakere
One of the key action areas for the Te Waka ki Mua plan is Active Seniors. The long term goal of Active Seniors is: ‘To have a more active senior population supported by sustainable networks, programmes and opportunities for physical activity.’ This involves growing networks of seniors who promote physical activity as part of their core purpose and increasing knowledge amongst seniors of the importance of regular physical activity for healthy ageing.
The Active Waitakere team has completed a brochure outlining physical activity opportunities for the senior population of Waitakere. The information brochure aims to target all Senior members/residents within the wider Waitakere communities.
The purpose of the Active Seniors physical activity brochure is to provide local information and consistent messaging regarding the benefits of and participation in sport and physical recreation. It provides information on resources that are available to the senior population from Tai Chi to aquatic programmes
