Activities Fund 2012

Auckland Council holds a fund to support the local community to promote the Push Play message and run activities/evens during the Push Play period. Sport Waitakere administers the fund, and allocates grants to community groups who apply to run Push Play events and activities. Public events will be promoted in Sport Waitakere’s Push Play Activities Guide, to be printed or inserted into the Western Leader during the campaign, and to be available on Sport Waitakere’s website.

The fund is available for not for profit groups who have the aim of running an event, activity or programme in Waitakere (Henderson-Massey, Waitakere Ranges or Whau local board areas), for Waitakere people, that will promote the Push Play message during the Push Play period (29 September – 22 October 2012). Examples of activities are club open days, church activities day family/street sports day or school tabloid sports event.

The Push play message is 30 minutes of physical activity a day for adults and 60 minutes a day for children.

On May 26th, the Funding Information Hub was successfully launched. The launch was attended by 51 people from 37 organisations. Funding Directory Auckland Region 2011

 

The Auckland Regional Funding Directory is designed to assist community groups and not-for-profit organisations to identify potential funders. It completely updated annually.

The Funding Directory is an invaluable resource for all not for profit groups or organisations involved in community, social services, sports, arts, environment, education, or health support services.

The Directory covers the wider Auckland region. It contains information of fund providers unique to each area, including local council community funding and all the sites housing gaming machines.

This is followed by an alphabetical listing of over 80 other regional and nation-wide funders. All listings have been coded to show what type of organisation or activities are funded, how to apply and relevant closing dates.

Community Organisation Grants Scheme (COGS)

Does your community or voluntary organisation need assistance with funding? Grants are available from the Community Organisation Grants Scheme (COGS) and Lottery Grants Board.

Grants are distributed through a number of committees which meet to consider applications. For more information click here to visit the COGS website and download the relevant information sheets. COGS and most Lottery committees accept online applications.
