Community Sport Manager -
Elaine More
Elaine More has been at Sport Waitakere since 2004 from a pediatric nursing background. In August 2005 Elaine was appointed the Active Communities Manager. Elaine also has a Bachelor of sport, and enjoys the challenge of engaging with communities to increase levels of physical activity. She is a mother of two and enjoys spending time being active with her family. Elaine has a general interest in all areas of sport and active recreation, and has had significant involvement with Taekwon-Do both as an Instructor and practitioner.

Regional Sport Strategist – Warren Ogilvie
Warren is responsible for the strategic direction of sport development in Waitakere. This involves improving the capability of sport providers that will see the athletic ability of our children and sport participants improve. He also is responsible for the promotion of long term athlete development pathways, creating and sustaining strong linkages between the different elements of the sport system operating in Waitakere; ie between schools, clubs, Regional Sport Organisations, National Sport Organisations, regional support services. Warren has had many years of experience in sport management and working with community organisations. He brings extensive local knowledge and networks to this role. He lives in Waitakere and is passionate about the region.

Sport Advisor - Child and Youth
 - Gabrielle Gofton
Gabrielle Gofton was appointed in January 2006 as the Active Schools Facilitator and more recently was appointed as the Sport Advisor for Children and Youth. Gabrielle comes to Sport Waitakere after working for 2 ½ years at Counties Manukau Sport as the Franklin District Coordinator and RSD. Gabrielle arrived to Sport Waitakere via Japan where she spent 6 months working as a teacher in an International School. Gabrielle has a Bachelor of Business Studies and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sport Management. Her interests are triathlons, rugby, surfing and aerobics.

Active Schools Facilitator -
Hollie Evans 
Hollie Evans Hollie was appointed as an Active Schools Facilitator in August 2006. Hollie assists primary and intermediate schools and their communities in developing a physical activity culture where children choose and enjoy lifelong physical activity.

Community Sport Adviser
- Steve Roberts
Steve joined Sport Waitakere in October 2008 as Sport Development Advisor coming from many years in management roles within the commercial sector. His role revolves around building on the opportunities, capacities and capabilities of sporting clubs within the region and ties in very well with his passion for all things sporting. Playing, coaching, and officiating in football whilst being a committee member makes for a very busy active existence within sport. Spending time with his family exploring the parks and beaches of our great city fills the gaps in life and provides more than enough motivation to contribute to the betterment of the recreation and sporting environment of our region.

Active Movement Advisor - Pauline Butt
Pauline Butt was appointed to the position of Active Movement Advisor in 2006. Pauline comes from a nursing background and has worked as a Plunket Nurse. Pauline became involved in Te Akoranga Playcentre Association when she had her own children completing her Early Childhood training to National Supervisors Certificate. Pauline is passionate about ensuring that parents and teachers in the early childhood sector provide the best possible opportunities for children to learn through quality movement experiences. Pauline is heavily involved with Muriwai Lifeguard Service where she has been invovled in a coaching, administrative and officiating capacity. Her interests are swimming, hanging out at the beach and supporting her kids’ sports!

Participation Advisor – Patrick Te Rito
Patrick joined Sport Waitakere in July 2007 as Participation Advisor. His role is working with communities across Waitakere with the objectives of more people more active more often and helping people create a lifetime of healthy habits. This involves exposing/promoting the numerous benefits gained from physical activity, healthy eating and adopting healthy lifestyles. Patrick loves all forms of physical activity and is involved in as much as time and body will allow. He endeavours to pass on his passion for all things physical to as many Westies as possible. Community Sport Coordinator - Sabine Heke
Sabine came to New Zealand from the Netherlands in 2003 and has been involved in the sports industry through several areas such as dance, aerobics and fitness. 
She has 2 sons and enjoys the combination of being a mum and working part time to share her passion in the physical activity / sports industry. Sabine coordinates the Community Sport team, assisting with administration and the development of projects.
