Chief Executive Officer - Lynette Adams
Lynette was employed as CEO in July 2005 after 10 months as General Manager. She has had an extensive career in sport working in both management and delivery roles. Lynette’s passion for children and youth sport led her into the sport industry and she continues that on with a desire to improve the fundamental movement skills of children. Lynette also believes that sport and physical activity has a huge capacity to impact on both individual lives and on whole communities improving health, productivity, and social connectedness. Lynette is proud to be born and bred a “Westie” and loves working for her region. She is currently a BowlsNZ Board member. She has played many sports (very averagely) and now enjoys social tennis and playing active games with her young family.

Operations Manager - Kate Rooney
Kate manages the business services of Sport Waitakere ensuring quality services are provided to the team, and systems and tools provide efficient administration and facilities. This includes CRM, IT, Policies and Procedures, HR and Health & Safety. Kate has worked in Facilities Management, Administration Management and Information Technology. She enjoys a variety of recreational sports including Sea Kayaking and and has enjoyed participating in the Mainly Music and Wriggle and Rhyme programs with her son.

Community Sport Manager - Elaine More
Elaine More has been with Sport Waitakere since 2004 and is responsible for key programme / service delivery by leading and managing the development and implementation of community sport. Elaine has a general interest in all areas of sport and active recreation, and has had significant involvement with Taekwon-Do both as an Instructor and practitioner.

Regional Sport Advisor – Warren Ogilvie
Warren is responsible for building capability in all aspects of sport . This involves assisting sport providers in achieving best practice in the management and delivery of their sport so that it meets the needs of the consumer in our community. Sport Waitakere works alongside sport providers at a community, regional and national level. Warren has had significant experience in sport management, working with a wide variety of sports at different levels, for a considerable time. He brings specific knowledge , together with a broad perspective of sport in New Zealand. He lives locally and is passionate about the importance that sport and recreation plays in our community.

Community Coach Advisor - Janelle Nee
Janelle has recently been appointed to the role of Community Coaching Advisor for Sport Waitakere and GACU. She has previously worked for Netball Auckland Waitakere as the CoachForce Coordinator and Auckland Girls Grammar as Head of Netball. Her passion is coach development in all areas, across all codes and at all levels. She has coached since she was 15 and have recently completed a Bachelor Sport and Recreation Degree in Sports Coaching and Management at AUT.
As community coach advisor her primary focus will be to lead and implement the strategic development and growth of community coaching. This will involve managing the delivery of a local coaching plan to recruit, train and retain coaches at a community level, ensuring an increase in the quality of coaches delivering at all levels of the player pathway, developing and enhancing community coaching infrastructures and systems to better record coaching development. Janelle will play a key role in planning, developing, evaluation and quality control of coaching programmes across the Greater Auckland region.
Community Sport Advisor - Ryan Waite
Ryan joined Sport Waitakere in January 2012. He works with clubs and grassroots sport, assisting to strengthen infrastructure and service. He previously worked at AUT as the Clubs Development Advisor and has a range of experience in sport and recreation.
Child and Youth Advisor - Gabrielle Gofton
Gabrielle was appointed in January 2006 as the Active Schools Facilitator and more recently was appointed as the Child and Youth Advisor. Gabrielle came to Sport Waitakere after working for 2 ½ years at Counties Manukau Sport as the Franklin District Coordinator and RSD. Gabrielle arrived to Sport Waitakere via Japan where she spent 6 months working as a teacher in an International School. Gabrielle has a Bachelor of Business Studies and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sport Management. Her interests are triathlons, rugby, surfing and aerobics.

Child and Youth Advisor - Hollie Evans
Hollie Evans Hollie was appointed as an Active Schools Facilitator in August 2006. Hollie assists primary and intermediate schools and their communities in developing a physical activity culture where children choose and enjoy lifelong physical activity.
Fundamental Skills Advisor - Pauline Butt
Pauline Butt joined Sport Waitakere in 2006 as Active Movement Advisor and has now taken on the role of Fundamental Skills Advisor responsible for ensuring that children in the 0-12 space gain the necessary Fundamental skills that will allow them to participate confidently in organized sport. Pauline comes from a nursing background and has worked as a Plunket Nurse. Pauline became involved in Te Akoranga Playcentre Association when she had her own children completing her Early Childhood training to National Supervisors Certificate. Pauline is passionate about ensuring that parents and teachers provide the best possible opportunities for children to learn through quality movement experiences. Pauline is heavily involved with Muriwai Lifeguard Service where she has been invovled in a coaching, administrative and officiating capacity. Her interests are swimming, hanging out at the beach and supporting her kids’ sports!
Community Sport Advisor - Esther Revell
Esther is a registered NZ secondary PE teacher and has worked within the sporting industry for the past 10 years. She has worked in New Zealand, England and Australia in education, council and community settings. Esther has gained experience in programme delivery, club development, facility management and strategic development and management. Esther has a passion for all sport and recreational pursuits but has worked closely in the fields of athletics, hockey, swimming, gymnastics, disability sports and most youth activities. Esther is currently co-ordinating the 8M8’s social sport programme for senior secondary school students, supporting a range of sporting organisations and clubs, and providing curriculum support to a number of local primary schools. Esthers personal interests are hockey, ocean swimming and spending time with her young family.
Fundamental Skills Coordinator - Vienna James
Vienna's role in Sport Waitakere is to deliver fundamental skills sessions to young children, particularly children under 5 within the Waitakere community. Vienna is an accomplished netball and rugby player, who also coaches rugby and netball at Secondary School. Her idol is Beyonce, who some people say she resembles.
Active Communities Advisor - Emma Haigh
Emma Haigh is the new Active Communities Advisor. This role is all about supporting the community to get involved in physical activity. Emma will work with a number of organisations to target those people who are not already involved in physical activity, at the same time looking for community leaders to champion physical activity in their communities. Areas she will focus on include workplace wellness, recreational walking, move 4 health and community leaders programmes.
Administrator - Stephanie Tahuri
Stephanie has just returned back to the workforce, after having had children. She previously worked as the Office Manager for a corporate software company. Since working at Sport Waitakere she feels that it has revived her love for sports, and feels great to be part of an organisation that drives that vehicle . Stephanie manages the day to day running of the office including administration tasks and front of house enquiries.

Community Sport Coordinator - Lance Newman
Lance assists with administration and the development of sport and recreation projects, supporting project staff.
Business Services Manager - Jody Bennett. Jody is on maternity leave until late 2012.
Jody works to promote Sport Waitakere and our key messages in the community. Her role includes marketing and communication, the development of sponsorship opportunities and event management. Prior to working at Sport Waitakere, Jody was a Sport Opportunity Advisor for Halberg Trust, supporting disabled people to access sport and recreation opportunities.
